I wonder if the same guy that played Bilbo in the trilogy will play as Bilbo again. Can't wait for it to come out though.

Do you guys think any Rings actors will be in it? I reckon they could fit Legolas in the Thranduil's hall

Hmm, the ring was a good film but I don't think the actors would suit a fantasy role. Yeah maybe, that would be interesting, I do hope Ian plays Gandalf again, it just wouldn't be Gandalf without him

A popular topic is whether or not cameo's will be strewn throughout the film. Opinions?

That's what I meant by "do you think any rings actors will be in it."
You'll probably see Arwen and possibly Aragorn in Rivendell. Gloin might mention his son Gimli.

Well, Arwen was in Lothlorien for most of Aragorn's young life (until his twentieth birthday). And he'd be...ten during the time of The Hobbit, lol. However, it's been suggested by some fans that there could be a scene where a young Estel (Aragorn) would run across the screen, pursued by his mother (Gilraen). And as for other actors...I'd like to see Legolas in among the Elven nobility in Thranduil's throneroom, though just having him stand there - not waving or winking at the camera or anything. Just an easter egg, lol. Cheers, -mike

That would be so cool. Spot little Aragorn running across the scene.

Just an easter egg, lol. What about also having him as Thranduil's squire/attendant in scenes such as when the Elves and Men go to Erebor to claim the gold and debate with Thorin (just a background thing, for example holding Thranduil's standard)? Of course this will be dependant on the actors wanting to do such small cameos. On the other hand, as an in-joke they could always cast Orlando Bloom and John Rhys Davis as Thranduil and Gloin respectively.

I would like to see them put Legolas and possibly Gimly in, but just as cameos and don't give them any talking lines.
The last thing we want is them getting into a killng contest at The Battle of Five Armies....

Yeah, I would like to see that. My mum cracks up when Legless, as she says, kills the mumak and then Gimli says,"that still only counts as one." I would laugh.

That would be quite funny. Anyway, a late reply to Jays first post in this thread;
I think they should use Ian Mcklennen as Gandalf but probably not Ian holm as Bilbo as he was younger but it would be nicer having him playing Bilbo.
