Hopefully someone can help me out in this great overhelming place of knowledge!
Im looking to buy a static grass mat or mats to cover a terrain board that I want to make. I am planning on making it modular and I want a large area of static grass and thought a mat would be best. So of to Google I went and this confused me even more with the variety to chose from.
I was hoping that somone could adivse me in what to buy!
Many thanks, Captain of Rohan

Can i ask is the board just a flat board or has it hills and things carved onto it?

Its flat. I have a 4ft table thats split into 4 2ft by 2ft boards for easier storage and then I plan to make hills etc to make it modular.

The only thing i can think of for a flat board would be the GW gaming mat but for a more bumpy surface i used just flock and static grass with alot of PVA glue and did some areas of sand. Hope that helps abit more

Cool. Thanks I'll take a look at one of them. I'm guessing they have them on the online store?

I've had a look but as usual the GW Mat looks kinda expensive as i need to cover 4ft by 4ft and I need extra for hills and other scenery! Thanks for your help RC but anyone else got any ideas?

Well with hills i wouldnt suggest covering them in mat but adding flock and static grass or any other type of flocky stuff you want to be on the hill but to match your mat probably static grass

plus GW sell hills that are the same texture exactly as the gaming mat anyway

That is very true. But surely there must be some other company that produces a mat and hills that are matching that are a little cheaper! Sorry but im a bit of a Scrooge.
