Currently, I'm having great great difficulty with eyes. This is a pic of my recent effort. Durin. How can I paint finer with a GW fine Detail as my smallest Brush?

you almost say it yourself! smallest brush, that means you have more control of it and the paint. it goes slower but the result is more amazing. make sure you have enough light. the last thing you want is to try to guess where the eyes are. paint the eyes with Chaos Black, then Skull White leaving the Chaos Black around the edges. and then a little dot for pupil with Chaos Black

my next door neighbour uses the very small CDR pens you use for writing on disks for painting the eyes on his minis

but... i agree with A Luna, the smallest brush you can find
hehe, i once had a happy accident when i accidently got some superglue on my fine detail brush. i pulled the super glue of ended up with one or two hairs and now its great for painting eyes im not saying you should put super glue on your brush to do the same because people have said i was lucky because usually all the hairs come out ;D

if im right, some pro's also use very thin fineliners (also for very fine detail work)

Yes fineliners (thinest u can get) also work. A staff member of my local GW told me this a while ago but forgot till Luna mentioned

Don't make the pupils what ever you do.... A lot of people have the tiniest black dots in large white eyes and the mini's look like they're all crapping thier pants.
If you can't do eyes then leave them black : it looks far better.

But if you just practice on lots of old minis or ones you have lots of, eventually u'll get them just right

and the best thing on metal minis i, if they go wrong, just strip the paint off them and try again

I remember in TLA, some people painted a black line down the the middle of the eyes for the pupils so the eyes didn't look cross eyed. Just maybe try it on one of your models and if it doesn't work just go over in white again, of course.

I use a 0.5mm technical drawing pen for my pupils, makes life easier in my eyes Kain
