I really like the look of the models but I've got no idea how the game plays.
(I know there are VERY few players but that doesn't bother me)
Can any on help?

The game is very much in the same vein as Warmaster, I have only played it once and I mainly bought it for sake of completeness, but to be fair its not actually a bad game.

Do what i'm getting and get Mines of Moria boxed set. It's supposed to be quite good for beginners.

Unfortunately Mines of Moria is not a lot of good to you if you want to play large games with regiments, which is where Warmaster or more specifically Battle of the Five Armies comes in.
Its totally different to the way LotR plays and that is the point it is supposed to be different. Its another £50 box so you need to be sure about wanting to play it or even getting it in the first place, although I can say from personal experience it is a good game so if you are interested then go for it.

Oops, did I get something wrong. What is battle of five armies. I thought it was LOTR. I thought it stood for Isengard, Mordor, Gondor, Rohan and The Shire. Is it kinda like Warhammer? Sorry.

Its the battle of Five armies which takes place at the end of the hobbit. The game is more like Warmaster (5-6mm minis instead of 28mm).
I was just wondering how the game played since I really like the look of the models.

From what I can remember, as its been a couple of years since I last played it, its an OK system, like any new system it takes a bit of getting used to, with how many attacks does that unit have or what bonus does that unit get for charging type of thing, but it is fast paced and enjoyable, and it is quick and easy to get into.
I have never played Warmaster as such but that is the basic rules system that BotFA employes as far as I am aware, but using the forces and characters etc etc in The Hobbit as opposed to generic fantasy models, but I would imaging that the basic rules system of the game is pretty much the same.
