You know, in all my time in the hobby, i have never met anyone, who uses this tactic. I don't think it has a name so i am gonna call it "Immense Shooting" As we know, being able to shoot every turn would be pretty d**n cool. But in most games, 4"by 4" or even 6" by 4" and even smaller gaming bored, shooting practically all the time is possible apart from the first turn. Move your volley group of archers the full distance, lets say 6". Seeing that neither of you can shoot its okay this turn. Next turn, if your within volley then volley but if you want to move then move, but why not do both? Do so, move 3" and volley. In the rules it states you can volley as long as you have moved half or less then your previous movement. So turn 2... move 3" and volley, whilst your opponent and you exchange bowfire. This technique is great if you want to keep shooting and until normal range, i use this a lot and it proves very efficient. Its great for taking objectives with your archer group. Just don't go round telling people. You lot are the only people who now know off it unless you knew of it before, in which case i will be amazed.

Firstly, unless playing a scenario or playing lengthways, you should always be in as on a 4x4 or 4x6 you'll be at most 48" apart, which is in volly range of most good bows, and more often than not be able to get within 24", which is within all volley ranges. So, most of the time in a pitched battle you'll start within volley range, or be able to move into it with your 3" movement.
Secondly, isn't moving your archers up to 3" a common thing if their just out of range?

I'm asking what relavence your second post has to the conversation. In the first you talk about this 'amazing' idea you have, which I replied to saying that it seems senisble. You then posted something about moving 6" in one turn and then 3" in another, which doesn't seem conected to the 'amazing idea' other than it involves shooting. Can you please state clearly what 'moving them 3" then volleying if you moved 6" the previous turn' has been posted for.
